The neighbours test

The quickest check: if identical homes on your street are in a lower band than yours, your band is likely wrong.

The neighbours test is a simple triage step. Look up every band on your street and check whether homes of the same type, size and age as yours are in a lower band. If several are, your band is probably too high and worth challenging. If they're all the same as yours, a challenge is unlikely to succeed.
