TaxBandAppeal vs doing it yourself
The Valuation Office Agency accepts free band challenges directly. You don’t need us, or anyone else, to submit one. So the real question is what your time is worth, and whether you’re confident building the evidence pack that gives the VOA a reason to say yes.

When DIY makes sense
If you already know your street well, you’ve seen a neighbour’s bill and you’ve got a spare afternoon, DIY is genuinely fine. The GOV.UK challenge form is straightforward and the VOA is not hostile — they just need evidence.
When our pack is worth it
If you don’t want to spend a Saturday cross-referencing VOA records, or you’re not sure how to back-calculate to a 1991 valuation, £4.99 buys the research and the letter. You still submit the challenge yourself — nothing changes about who talks to the VOA.
