Council Tax Reduction (CTR)
A means-tested reduction for low-income households, run by each council. Different from a band appeal.
Council Tax Reduction (formerly Council Tax Benefit) is a means-tested scheme administered by local councils. It reduces the bill for people on low incomes or certain benefits. It's separate from a band appeal — a band appeal changes what everyone at your property would pay; CTR changes what you personally pay based on your circumstances.
